Two Cultures, One Story: A Wedding in Tepoztlán, Mexico

Some weddings stay with you for different reasons, and this one, at the foot of the Tepozteco mountains, was definitely one of them.

She's from Ecuador, he's from Mexico, and they chose Tepoztlán, Morelos, to bring their families and friends together for a celebration that was about much more than a beautiful setting or elegant details. It was about bringing two worlds together.

Surrounded by the mountains of Tepoztlán, they shared a day filled with spontaneous moments, hugs, laughter, and that special kind of energy that comes from having all your favorite people in one place.

That's one of the things I love most about photographing weddings. Finding those little moments that often go unnoticed but somehow end up telling the story better than anything else.

For this wedding, I wanted to bring together two things I really enjoy about photography: the honesty of documentary storytelling and a more editorial approach. Nothing overly staged or forced, just letting the day unfold naturally while paying attention to the light, the surroundings, and everything happening in between.

And Tepoztlán did its part. The mountains created an incredible backdrop for a wedding that felt elegant, personal, and above all, authentic.

Looking back, what stays with me isn't just the beautiful photographs, but the experience of witnessing two families, two countries, and two cultures coming together to celebrate one story.

And I think that's what makes photographing weddings so special. No two stories are ever the same.
